Teak, hailed as the "King of Woods," is one of the world's most renowned and precious woods! In Myanmar and Indonesia, it's considered a national treasure, and in Europe, there's an old saying: "Old teak is as precious as gold." From the opulent palaces of Thailand to the luxurious Titanic, even after a century of vicissitudes, teak retains its luster. In the eyes of the world, teak has transcended the meaning of mere wood, becoming a symbol of quality and prestige.

Teak possesses beautiful, jet-black rays and a golden hue with shimmering oil patterns, giving it a mystique that surpasses that of other woods. Furthermore, teak is rich in iron and oil, making the material not only highly stable and resistant to warping but also effectively preventing moisture penetration. Therefore, teak was widely used in the construction of ships for long voyages centuries ago.

The prestige of teak stems from the natural baptism of its golden woodland.
Burmese teak grows in the hidden primeval forests of the "golden latitude"-28.3° North-on red soil in the low hills and plains below 700-800 meters in altitude. There, the climate is hot year-round, with torrential rains and an annual rainfall of 1500-2500 mm. This extreme tropical monsoon climate, a stark contrast of "water and fire," makes teak, deeply versed in the law of "survival of the fittest," even more resilient, releasing its vitality and extraordinary adaptability.

Having endured the trials of sun, rain, and extreme humidity, teak remains as solid as a rock, displaying a regal and noble character.

The prestige of teak also stems from the arduous trials behind its vibrant colors.

The tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia are known as one of the oldest ecosystems, nurturing thousands of species of wildlife. Wild, aged teak, having endured the trials of nature, absorbs the organic and mineral essence bestowed upon it day and night. Through countless harsh weather conditions and storms, it finally develops an exquisitely alluring "variegated oil pattern" and beautiful, exotic grain.

These "variegated oil patterns," rich in oil, are resistant to warping and repellent against insects and termites. Behind this dazzling beauty lies teak's noble and powerful qualities, its proud spirit in the face of adversity.

Teak's prestige stems from supreme honor. Referred to as a "national treasure" in Myanmar and Indonesia, and with the European saying, "Old teak is as precious as gold," it has long been a symbol of luxury and wealth, commonly used in the manufacture of high-end furniture, flooring, luxury cars, yachts, and interior and exterior decorative materials.

The Vimanmek Mansion, also known as the "Golden Teak Palace," is the world's largest and finest teak palace. It is also called the Golden Teak Palace because it is constructed entirely of teak. Zheng He's voyages were all made of teak. The decks of the Titanic were entirely paved with teak. Olympic rowing boats and luxury yachts are made of teak. The "Manora Song" luxury cruise ship is owned by the Royal Garden Hotel in Thailand. Owned by the Garden Group, the ship recreates the shipbuilding techniques of centuries past, with its hull entirely constructed of teak, offering guests a regal experience.

In 2013, Rolls-Royce created the Phantom Convertible, also featuring teak throughout, providing the user with the luxurious feeling of being on a teak yacht.

Prestige stems from unwavering craftsmanship. The best teak on the market is Burmese teak. Genuine Burmese teak has a very high oil content, and its natural color leans more towards a coffee brown, not the golden yellow commonly seen. This is because the golden yellow color of the teak veneer comes from oxidation through photosynthesis, and the color becomes more beautiful over time. Unlike ordinary solid wood, which loses its luster over time, teak, like jade, not only retains its shine but also becomes more beautiful with use, remaining as good as new.

▲Teak Slabs
Sufficient sunlight and photosynthesis are key to ensuring the uniform and natural color of teak flooring. Sunny weather and ample space are essential for producing teak flooring. Dull or oddly colored Burmese teak flooring on the market is often the result of neglecting or improperly controlling this step in an effort to reduce costs.

▲Teak Veneers Undergo Sun Exposure
Sun exposure for teak is crucial. On one hand, the teak must be watered during the sun exposure process; on the other hand, the sun exposure time must be carefully controlled. There's no fixed number of days for teak to be properly sun-dried, as the amount of sunlight varies daily, and the difference between winter and summer is significant. In sunny weather, teak typically needs 10-15 days of sun exposure in spring and summer, and 20-30 days in autumn and winter to achieve its most beautiful appearance.

However, sufficient sun exposure increases time and labor costs, as well as the defect rate, leading to a higher overall cost. Insufficient sun exposure, while saving costs, results in uneven coloring, incomplete oxidation, and a lack of a natural, rounded finish, lowering product quality and consequently reducing sales. Not good.

Teak, after being sun-dried, develops a richer, more vibrant color with a distinct three-dimensional effect, a stable and deep hue, and a strong sense of depth. The overall installation effect is strikingly glossy, and it is UV-resistant and resistant to fading, making it an ideal choice for luxury home decoration.

Teak flooring, as a premium solid wood flooring, was previously mainly used in hotels, villas, and other high-end properties in mainland China. However, with rising living standards, its comfortable feel, warmth in winter and coolness in summer, and health benefits have made it increasingly popular, meeting people's desire for comfortable, warm, and healthy home environments. It has now become a key material choice for home decoration.

As people pursue a higher quality of life, teak flooring will become a leading product in the flooring market.
